Formally the Monarch’s Rest on Main Street in Yuma, The Standard a new family friendly restaurant is getting ready to open it’s doors. The building which formally featured a micro brewery sat vacant for over a decade.
The owner and operator of The Standard is Justin Patane. Justin had previously had Dennesio’s Pizzeria, at the Yuma Palms Regional Center says he closed the pizzeria to open the new business down town.
Patane’s targeted opening day is Oct. 1, 2013. The Standard, which he described as a family-friendly restaurant (offering meals from pizza to rib eyes) and lounge.
Patrons will be able to enjoy dinner, play pool, watch a ball game, listen to music and take to the dance floor. Hours will 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily, restricted after 10 p.m. to the over-21 crowd.
By the way, Patane said the new establishment is already staffed. The building had sat empty since the bankrupt Monarch’s Rest closed in 2003. The Quechan Tribe later purchased the property in a trustee sale.
